Donald and Melania Trump To Go Into Quarantine After White House Top Aide Tests COVID-19 Positive

By Newsroom

United States President Donald Trump and his wife Melania will go into isolation after news that White House Top Aide Hope Hicks tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday.

“Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!” Trump tweeted Thursday night.

While the test results are pending, the President is believed to be high risk-  Hicks has traveled with the President multiple times recently, including to the debate in Cleveland on Tuesday

She was seen boarding Marine One, along with several other of the President’s closest aides — Jared Kushner, Dan Scavino and Nicholas Luna — none of whom wore masks, on Wednesday as Trump was heading to a campaign rally in Minnesota.

During Tuesday’s debate with challenger Joe Biden, Mr. Trump criticized Biden’s constant mask-wearing, calling it a political stunt.

“I wear masks when needed. When needed, I wear masks.
I don’t have — I don’t wear masks like him. Every time you see him, he’s got a mask. He could be speaking 200 feet away from them and he shows up with the biggest mask I’ve ever seen,” the President said.

The United States retains its title as the nation with the highest number of COVID-19 cases, with 7.3 million confirmed cases in 208,000 deaths.
