Election Day In Saint Kitts & Nevis

It’s Election Day in Saint Kitts and Nevis, with voters to decide whether Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris will return to office after a calling a snap election just two years into his five year term.

A four-member CARICOM mission is in the country to observe the voting process, including a representative from Trinidad and Tobago.

 

The CEOM is headed by the Chief of Mission, Mr. Sase R. Gunraj, Commissioner of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM).

Other members of the CEOM include: –Mr. Corey Carlisle Greenidge – Barbados; Mr. Cecil Ferdinand Valies – Suriname; and Ms.  Roslyn Khan Cummings – Trinidad and Tobago.

Following the conclusion of the Election Day activities on 5 August 2022, a Preliminary Statement will be issued outlining the Mission’s initial assessment of the electoral process. The Mission will thereafter collaborate in the preparation of a Final Report on the election for submission to Dr. Carla Barnett, Secretary-General of CARICOM.
