The Scarborough Market remains closed for sanitization.

The THA Division of Food Production, Forestry and Fisheries had promised the facility would reopen Tuesday of the week, however in a statement on Thursday evening, it explained that the sanitisation process exceeded the initial estimated period.

The Division says the Public Health Department is working to conduct a deeper than usual cleaning of the facility to maintain general health and safety standards.

No exact date has been given for reopening, however the Division said its aim is to have regular operations resume within the next few days.

Several vendors have resorted to selling their produce in the parking lot of the facility.
