FAKE NEWS: TTPS Debunks Claim That Salaries Will Be Paid Late Due To Closure Of Police Admin Building

By Newsroom

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says the closure of the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain on Tuesday would not negatively impact the operations of the TTPS in any way and employees are expected to receive their salaries for the month of July as usual.

The clarification comes after a post purporting to be from the TTPS was shared online.

The Riverside Plaza and the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain were shut down this morning, due to a suspected COVID-19 case. A release from the TTPS said an employee was reported to have exhibited flu-like symptoms at the workplace. The person has since been sent for testing.

Persons are also strongly urged to desist from using the official TTPS letterhead and logo for mischievous purposes.

Members of the public are advised to check and stay updated with TTPS Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for accurate information on matters relating to crime and policing.
