Students of the Jerningham Government Primary School and Cunupia Secondary School were sent home to do online classes on Tuesday, after a shooting incident occurred in the vicinity of both institutions, leaving one man dead.

According to a police report, a man in a silver Nissan B15 pulled up near the Cunupia School just before 7am, and was targeted by a group of gunmen who pulled up in a Toyota Yaris.

The victim has not yet been identified.

The men then returned to their vehicle and sped off.

Investigations are continuing.
