Felicity Man Jailed For Resisting Arrest, Threatening Police Officer

A Felicity man, who threatened a police officer, was jailed for 12 months’ hard labour when he appeared virtually before a Chaguanas Magistrate last Friday.

Nigel Codrington, 33, of Union Village, Felicity, was also charged with breach of curfew, obscene language, and resisting arrest following an incident involving a police officer attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) at 9.10 pm on June 9th at Roopsingh Road, Carapichaima, where the accused was found to be breaching curfew.

Codrington pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to one-day simple imprisonment for using obscene language, three months’ hard labour for breach of curfew and 12 months’ hard labour for both resisting and threatening a police officer.

He will serve all three sentences concurrently.
