Investigations are continuing into a triple murder which took place in Sangre Grande overnight.

Gunmen opened fire on the three men, who were seated in a vehicle sometime before 10pm, killing them all on the spot.

This is the first triple homicide for the year, which pushes the murder toll to 23.

The victims have not yet been identified.

Meanwhile, when the House of Representatives sits this afternoon for the first time this year, National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds will be asked to detail government’s crime prevention plan for 2022 to ensure murders do not surpass the 500 mark.

The question, listed on the Order Paper for Oral Answer, will be posed by Naparima MP Rodney Charles.
