Five Arrested During Anti-Crime Exercises in the Northern Division

Police have arrested five people were for various offences including Firearm Possession and Robbery during several ongoing anti-crime exercises conducted in the Northern Division yesterday.

According to the TTPS, in the first exercise, officers of the St. Joseph Criminal Investigations Department were on enquiries in the Tunapuna district around 4:25 pm, on Thursday 18th July, 2024, when they arrested an 18-year-old woman in connection with a report of Robbery with Violence which occurred on March 17th, 2024.

The victim reported to police that she was allegedly stabbed, dealt several blows to her body and relieved of a quantity of cash by a woman known to her.

Meanwhile, officers conducted a warrant exercise in Northern Division North, between 2 am and 6 am, on Friday 19th July, 2024. It included officers of the Arima Criminal Investigations Department, and Arima, Malabar and Maloney Warrants Sections.

During the exercise, three persons were held for Affiliation Warrants, while a 39-year-old Arima man was arrested for Possession of Firearm, Possession of Ammunition and Possession of
Marijuana.

Investigations are ongoing into all the above matters.
