Former United National Congress Minister and Member of Parliament for Caroni East, Dr Tim Gopeesingh, has tested positive for COVID-19.

He made the announcement on Thursday evening via his Facebook account..

He said the received his results on Wednesday night.

“Under the existing health protocols and guidelines, I am currently in the State’s medical care, where I am being very well managed by a frontline team of nurses, doctors and support staff, for which I am very grateful,” he said.

Trinidad and Tobago presently has 767 COVID-19 cases on record- 615  of which are currently active.
