Forty-three-year-old man remanded into custody for murder of preschool principal

KIRK FIELDS, a 43-year-old man, of East Dry River, Port of Spain appeared before senior magistrate Maria Busby Earle-Caddle, earlier today, charged with the murder of preschool principal Jezelle Fournillier, on Monday 6th January 2020. Fournillier, also 43, was stabbed to death at her workplace. The matter was adjourned to February 27 and he was remanded into custody.

According to the TTPS: “Ms. Fournillier, 43, a pre-school principal, was at her place of work in Port of Spain with her students, when a man known to her entered and dealt her several stab wounds about the body, before leaving. The victim was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment, where she died. Fields subsequently surrendered himself to officers of the Besson Street Police Station on that same date. Following investigations into the incident, Fields, was charged by PC Garcia of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region 1, on Monday 13th January 2020.”
