The TTPS has detained four suspects and recovered a firearm and quantities of ammunition and narcotics seized by officers during ongoing anti-crime exercises in the Western Division this week.
According to the TTPS, officers conducted an exercise around 9:30 pm, on Thursday 13th July, 2023, during which detectives investigating a report of armed robbery, intercepted a red Kia Celto motor vehicle with a male suspect in the Cocorite area. A 20-year-old St. James man was held in connection with the incident.
A search of the vehicle resulted in one Glock 17 pistol loaded with a magazine containing 16 rounds of ammunition being discovered.
Also in the Western Division, Task Force officers conducted an exercise between 3 pm and 10 pm, on Friday 14th July 2023, during which they assisted officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region One, in executing search warrants at two locations in the Cocorite district.
During the exercise, one 24-year-old man was held and a quantity of marijuana seized. At another house in the Four Roads district, officers seized four rounds of ammunition and a quantity of ammunition and arrested two female suspects, ages 47 and 50.
Investigations are ongoing into the two above matters.
