Four Held, Two Guns Seized Following Anti-Crime Exercises

Four men were arrested and officers seized two firearms and quantities of ammunition during separate anti-crime exercises conducted in the Central and Western Divisions yesterday.

According to the TTPS, in the first exercise, officers of the Central Division were on mobile patrol along Mission Road, Freeport around 2:30 am, on Sunday 2nd June, 2024, when they intercepted a Nissan Almera motor vehicle with four male occupants.

The men exited the vehicle and attempted to escape, but the officers held three.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition along with another two rounds being found in a bag.

The search continues for the fourth suspect.

Meanwhile, in the Western Division, Task Force officers conducted an exercise between 9 am and 12 noon, yesterday, during which they stopped and searched a Mitsubishi Lancer Wagon with a lone male occupant.

The search resulted in officers finding one pistol loaded with a magazine under the driver’s seat.

The 47-year-old suspect of Diego Martin, was arrested in connection with the find.

Investigations into the two above matters are ongoing.
