Four T&T Nationals On Drug Trafficking Charges In SVG

Four Trinidad and Tobago nationals have been arrested and charged in St. Vincent in connection with a drug find.

They have been identified as  Kerry Keller, a 26-year-old Labourer; Joel Medina, a 31-year-old Fisherman; Dion Harry, a 22-year-old Fisherman; and Andre Lee, a 45-year-old Fisherman. 

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service intercepted a pirogue west of Canouan with the four men on board last Friday.

A search of the vessel allegedly led to the seizure of  330 grammes of cocaine and 69 rounds of prohibited ammunition.

The four men face the following charges:

  • Possession of a Managed Drug with intent to provide it to a different; 

  • Possession of a Managed Drug for the aim of Drug Trafficking; 

  • Trying to Import a Managed Drug throughout the territorial waters of St Vincent and the Grenadines; 

  • Possession of 69 rounds of prohibited ammunition with out the authorisation of the minister; 

  • Possession of ammunition and not using a license issued underneath the Firearms Act.  

They appeared in court on October 17th and were remanded into custody pending an assessment.

Only one of the men, Dion Harry, pleaded guilty, while the remaining three submitted not guilty pleas.
