Fourteen Arrested In Early Morning Exercise, Cops Seize Firearm And Ammunition

Fourteen persons were arrested and one pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division during an anti-crime exercise on the El Dorado and Tunapuna districts early this morning.

Officers conducted the exercise between 4am and 8am, on Thursday 10th September, 2020, during which they proceeded to El Dorado Road, El Dorado and Bamboo Trace, Tunapuna.

During the exercise, a 40-year-old La Horquetta man was held for drug and firearm possession offences, while a 19-year-old Tunapuna man was held with one Sig Sauer pistol and 13 rounds of ammunition in his possession.

Twelve others were held for gang-related offences.

Investigations are ongoing.

The exercise was spearheaded by Supt. Montrichard, coordinated by ASP Gyan and Insp. Pitt and included officers of the Northern Division Task Force, Area West, Area East and Central, Tunapuna Warrant Staff, the La Horquetta Crime Patrol Unit and the Canine Branch.
