Fully Vaccinated Students To Return To Face-to-Face Learning From October 1st, PM Announces

Students who are fully vaccinated in forms 4-6 can look forward to returning to the physical classroom at the beginning of October, as government pushes for a return to face to face learning.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley made the announcement during Saturday’s Covid-19 media conference.

As it stands, only 25 per cent of eligible children have received a first dose.

Unvaccinated students, he confirmed, will remain subject to virtual classes or other arrangements.

“But, that option (return to classroom) is going to be offered to vaccinated children only, and those children that are not vaccinated will get their education at this time by alternative means, which the Ministry of Education will outline in the near future.” Dr. Rowley explained.

He added: “It means that we asking that those children be vaccinated fully, meaning first dose, second dose, and two weeks to develop their immunity. Today, I’m asking that we offer these children face-to-face education with their relevant teachers from October 1.”

The new school term will begin on September 6th, with all students returning to virtual learning.
