Police have arrested one man and seized a firearm and a quantity of cocaine, which was found during an anti-crime exercise in the Couva district yesterday.

The exercise was conducted on Monday 27th January 2020, under the supervision of Snr. Supt. Hunte, Supt. Mystar, ASP Smith and other members of the Central Division Task Force.

According to reports: “During the exercise, officers conducted a search of a bushy area at Calcutta Road #1, where they discovered 420 grammes of cocaine together with one Glock pistol and a magazine. During the same exercise, a 25-year-old man, of Basta Hall Village, Couva was arrested by the same officers on the same date for possession of a quantity of cocaine.”
