Students of the Point Fortin EastSecondary School should be able to return to classes by next week. That is when repair work on Blocks C and D of the school will be ready after extensive repairs.
On January 24ththe Ministry of Works and Transport said the building appeared to be in fair physical condition.
The government subsequently engaged MTS to conduct “AC, ceiling replacement and masonry remedial works to Blocks C and Das well as an electrical upgrade, it was revealed in the Senate this afternoon.
The repair is 50 per cent completed and school should reopen by next week.
Students and parents staged a demonstration outside the school earlier this week expressing concern about their preparations for the CSEC and CAPE exams, especially the School-Based Assessment (SBA) projects and lab reports.
