Government Announces Tax Amnesty From July To September

By Newsroom

In the House of Representatives on Friday, Finance Minister Colm Imbert announced a tax bracket incentive for 2021, in an effort to generate some much needed revenue.

The amnesty will come into effect on July 5th, next Monday, until September 17th.

In 2019, government’s three-month tax amnesty drew in $2.382 billion, the largest ever in the history of Trinidad and Tobago.

At that time, Minister Imbert said the figure was “almost five times the original estimate of $500 million.”

“This provides ample evidence for the need of the Revenue Authority,” Imbert added at the time.
