Griffith’s Lawsuit Against PSC Pushed Back To Next Monday

By Newsroom

The court will hear former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith’s lawsuit against the Police Service Commission next Monday.

The matter was due to be heard by Justice Ricky Rahim yesterday, however lawyers representing the Commission argued that they received Griffith’s court filing late on Monday and needed more time to formulate their response.

Griffith is contesting the PSC’s decision to send him on extended leave pending the completion of an investigation into the issuance of firearm user’s licenses within the TTPS.

Meanwhile, the tit for tat between Gary Griffith and National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds continues, with Griffith taking issue with the Minister’s statement that he is a mere “civilian with no power”.

Re-publishing a letter from the Police Service Commission dated August 15th, Griffith pointed to the PSC’s appointment for him to act as Police Commissioner from August 17th, until the selection process to fill the position is completed.
