Trinidad and Tobago’s Andwuelle Wright failed to make it out of the qualification round in the men’s long jump at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
The 22 year-old’s best jump was 7.76 meters and he finished in 17th place, five spots out of the final qualifying places.
Cuba’s Juan Echevarría had the best jump of the night with 8.40 meters, while Jeff Henderson of the USA was second with 8.12 meters and Japan’s Yuki Hashikoda was third with 8.07 meters.
Up next for Team TTO will be Kelly-Ann Baptiste in the women’s 100 meters.
She will run out of Lane 3 in Heat 3 from 9:44 am TT time.
