A call has been made for citizens to assist in any way they can, after news that soca artiste Dexter “Blaxx” Stewart is in recovery after experiencing kidney complications. 

While little details are known about the nature of the illness, a message shared by  fellow artiste Destra Garcia on Sunday, indicated that financial support is needed to help cover his expenses.

Blaxx, 57, has managed to secure a firm spot in the music industry over his decades-long career, creating a series of monster hits  like ‘Gyal Owner’, ‘Breathless’ and ‘Hulk’ that are still popular to this day.

Most recently, he released the tune ‘Same Way’ on T&T’s 58th anniversary of Independence- promoting unity and togetherness.
