The Heritage Petroleum Company is working to identify the source of an oil spill which occurred along a municipal drain at Point Ligoure, Fortin.

The company says it has deployed specialized spill response teams to clean up the affected area, adding that most of the oil was contained via containment booms.

A report has been submitted to the Energy Ministry and the Environmental Management Authority, EMA. Both agencies are expected to launch an investigation.
