Two AR-15 rifles, a MAC-10 sub-machine gun, a homemade pistol, a crossbow, two bullet-proof vests and quantities of ammunition and marijuana, were found by officers of the North Eastern Division during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Morvant district on Friday.

Acting on information, officers proceeded to Nine Storeys, Almond Drive, Morvant, where they conducted a search of an elevator shaft.

The search resulted in one black AR-15 rifle loaded with a magazine containing 15 rounds of ammunition, one black AR-15 rifle loaded with a magazine containing 20 rounds of ammunition, one black MAC-10 sub-machine gun loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition and a silencer attached to the barrel, one home-made pistol, one crossbow, two bulletproof vests and 72 grammes of marijuana being found in the elevator shaft.

No arrests were made in the find.

Investigations are ongoing.
