House To Consider EBC Report On Establishing 15 Electoral Districts In Tobago

By Newsroom

Government and Opposition MPs are due to consider the draft report of the Elections and Boundaries Commission, on the delimitation of Tobago’s electoral districts when the Lower House sits at 1:30pm today.

This puts Tobago one step closer to fresh elections to solve a deadlock and follows the passage of the THA bill in March, which increased the electoral districts in Tobago from 12 to 15 seats.

Last Friday, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley laid the report in the Lower House.

The January 25th elections marked the first time in the THA’s 40-year history that the result of an election ended in a tie.
