Human slavery compound found in Nigeria

By Newsroom

About 500 men and boys who were rescued from a building in Kaduna, Nigeria described the conditions as a living hell. The facility was being used as an Islamic school and correctional facility. According to police reports, the place was used for human slavery and many detainees were found in chains.

Some of the victims said they were tortured and sexually abused. Situations like these have become common in the area because many  families can’t afford to send their children to school and those that can often enroll them in poorly regulated institutions like this one.
