Hurricane Lorenzo stirs T&T’s Beaches

By ttrn

Hurricane Lorenzo may be thousands of kilometers away from Trinidad and Tobago but swells from the Category Three storm is affecting northern and sheltered nearshore areas of our islands.

The MET Service issued a yellow level hazardous seas alert on Friday, warning beach goers and boat operators to look out for “dangerous breaking waves and currents.” The rough seas will be aided by spring tides that may also cause localized beach erosion.

These conditions are expected to end next Tuesday.
