In just under six weeks, on August 10th, Trinidad and Tobago voters will head to the polls to cast their ballots for the party they desire to lead the next government.
The date was announced by Prime Minister during the sitting of the House of Representatives on Friday.
The 11th Parliament will be dissolved by midnight on Friday.
In early May, the Prime Minister had hinted that he might call the election in December.
“An election for Christmas is always a good thing in Trinidad and Tobago,” he said in the House of Representatives back on May 8th.
