Jamaica confirms 31 new cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours

By Newsroom

Jamaica’s Ministry of Health and Wellness has confirmed 31 new cases of the COVID-19 virus in the last 24 hours bringing their total to 288.

The Ministry said that the new rise in cases is due to better testing capabilities as they were able to conduct 304 tests in the last 24 hours. This was made possible by the commissioning of the new COBAS machine at the National Public Health Laboratory in Kingston.

Twenty five of the 31 cases are related to a workplace cluster in St. Catherine.
