Democratic Presidential hopeful Joe Biden and his wife Jill have both tested negative for the coronavirus.

The pair was tested on Friday, after news that President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania tested positive for the virus.

“I’m happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for COVID. Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands,” Biden tweeted.

Biden and Trump both shared a debate stage on Tuesday night, in the first 2020 Presidential Debate.

In an earlier tweet, Biden offered well wishes to the President and his wife.

“Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family,” he said.

Trump’s positive COVID-19 result will have a profound effect on his ability to interact with voters in the month leading up to the November 3rd election.

The President and his First Lady were tested for the virus on Thursday night, after Hope Hicks, a top aide at the White House tested positive for the virus.

President Trump is said to be experiencing mild symptoms but is in good spirits.
