Killed While Helping his Neighbour

Charan  Singh, the son of a  retired policeman, who worked as an analyst with Guardian Group, was killed while helping his neighbour to install a security camera on Wednesday night at her home located opposite his family home in Chickland, Freeport.

It was just before nine o’clock when the neighbour’s brother returned home and opened the gate to drive in. But bandits who had either followed him or were lurking nearby ran in and tried to take the keys to the vehicle.

The man resisted and the bandits fired several shots. before running off. Twenty-four-year-old Charan was shot three times.  He died while being treated at the Couva District Hospital. 

 Charan was the son of retired Superintendent of Police  Matura Singh.
