Lisa Hanna Gracefully Accepts Loss In PNP Leadership Race

Jamaican politician Lisa Hanna has lost her quest for leadership of the Opposition People’s National Party, but she is vowing to continue working to #BringBackDiLove.
 
Hanna was defeated by Mark Golding as the party held its internal elections on November 7th, earning 1,444 voted compared to Golding’s 1,740.

A total of 3,350 delegates that were registered to vote on Saturday.

Golding will replace Dr Peter Phillips, who led the party to a landslide defeat in the island’s September 3 General Elections.

In a post on Saturday evening, Hanna thanked supporters for the love extended to her throughout her campaign. 

“This campaign has been extraordinary for me. And I have loved every moment of the journey. Walking with you and talking with you. I’ve called Comrade Mark Golding and congratulated him on his victory,” she said.
 
She shared a message of unity, vowing to work with the new leadership.
 
“We have much work to do, and must come together in Love, and choose unity,” Hanna said.
