Meanwhile, Minister with responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs, Ayanna Webster-Roy, has condemned this morning’s killing of Tara Ramsaroop and her one-year-old daughter Jada at the family’s home in Barrackpore. Minister Webster Roy says support will be provided for the Ramsaroop family, while issuing a wider call for citizens to speak out about domestic violence at the first sign.
“As we strive to raise awareness of the needs of the most vulnerable in our society and implement effective safeguarding mechanisms, I urge individuals and families to seek out these essential services at the first sign of distress. Remember, time is of the essence. “Please do not wait; do not take any chances, as it may never get better. Early reporting is crucial in preventing further harm.” the Minister said.
