A 33-year-old man will appear before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate on Monday, to answer to two charges of sexual penetration of a child, aged 12.

According to police, a report was made to the Port-of-Spain Child Protection Unit on January 14th, 2020 by the victim. She told investigators the man coerced her into having sexual intercourse at his home in Belmont.

Extensive inquiries were conducted by the CPU which resulted in the accused being arrested on Saturday. He was formally charged today. 

Investigations were spearheaded by acting Supt George, and supervised by Inspector Andrews Sgt Bishop, and WPC Deonarine, of the CPU.
