Marijuana Seedlings, Guns, Ammo Seized; Cops Trace And Find Six Men Who Were Posing With a Gun In a Video

Investigating a video that appeared on social media showing six men with illegal firearms, police went to Four Roads in Diego Martin on Monday night where they arrested the six suspects. They were among eight persons held in the Western Division with two others arrested in  Maraval and St James during an exercise in which the cops found two guns, a small quantity of ammunition, marijuana and marijuana seedlings. ( See photo above)  At Faustin Trace, Maraval the cops arrested a man after they found  1.2 kilos of ganja with a street value of  TT$12,000 in his home.  At Long Circular, St. James  a search turned up one pistol loaded with 12 rounds of ammunition. for which one male suspect was arrested during the police operation between 4pm and midnight. An AR 15 Rifle loaded with five guns which were found in a derelict vehicle on the street while in nearby abandoned house cops found soft drink cases filled with marijuana seedlings and 936 grammes of marijuana.

 

In Sangre Grande officers of the Eastern Division held one man with parts of a homemade shotgun and a small quantity of ammunition early on Tuesday morning at a house in Vega de Oropouche, Sangre Grande which is the home of a 37-year-old man who was arrested. The police said they found “a shotgun barrel, trigger mechanism and two 12-gauge cartridges”. (See photo).

Finally, six weeks after a car was stolen in Arima, police found the vehicle, painted in a different colour, in Laventille. Officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force’s base at First Chacon in Laventille were on Mobile Patrol at Sylbert Trace, when they received a report from the officers of the Transit Police Unit of a suspected Stolen Motor Vehicle registration PBE 8504, a purple Nissan Cefiro.  The man driving the vehicle identified himself as a self- employed mechanic, who was performing a test drive on the vehicle. The Transit Police determined that the vehicle was stolen on Monday, 2nd March 2020, from Arima Old Road. When it was stolen, the vehicle was green with registration number PBC 5992. Additional checks revealed a tampered Chassis number. Investigations are continuing.
