Prepare for some bleak weather this afternoon, as the Met Office has issued a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert, expected to remain in effect until 5:30pm today.

“There is a high potential for heavy to intense showers/thunderstorms to develop by midday into the afternoon , which can result in rapid street/flash flooding. Gusty winds in excess of 50 km/h are likely in the vicinity of heavy downpours,” the Met Office said in a statement on Friday at noon.
