Michelle Lee Ahye out of 2020 Tokyo Olympics

T&T will be short one Olympic sprinter this year as Michelle-Lee Ahye, has been banned for two years and will not compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was this country’s 100m gold medalist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She was banned “for failing to notify doping testers about her whereabouts.”

She is expected to appeal the ban.

The news was first reported in the Associated Press. According to that report Ahye also missed three tests during a one-year period between 2018 and 2019. She was provisionally suspended since August 30, 2019 and was unable to compete at the Doha World Cup in September.
