Miss T&T Leaves the Country Today To Compete At Miss Universe 2023

Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Tya Jané La Shon Ramey has left the country to represent the country at the 71st edition of the Miss Universe competition.

The 25-year-old is expected to depart later today January, 2023 for New Orleans where the competition is being held.

This is the first time T&T has had a representative at the competition in five years. According to a statement from Mis Universe T&T:

“The highly anticipated event will feature (86) women from around the globe vying for the job of Miss Universe, through the process of personal statements, in depth interviews and various categories including evening swimsuit, evening gown and national costume.”

This year the competition will feature custom swimsuit capes which will portray messages from participating countries. This country’s portrayal is the Tobago Brain Coral.

The Miss Universe competition will be hosted at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
