A young woman and her three month old daughter became the country’s latest road fatalities when the vehicle the were travelling in crashed along the Manzanilla stretch on Friday afternoon. 

They have been identified as Sacha Surujbally and baby Syriah, of Coalmine in Sangre Grande.

According to reports, the Surujbally was driving her Nissan B15 vehicle north along the Manzanilla/Mayaro Road when she lost control of he car and hit a utility pole.

Her husband, Andre Seepersad, 31, was also in the vehicle but managed to escape with minor injuries.

Her parents, Kay Surujbally and Dalip Surujbally, were also in the car and both sustained serious injuries.

They were taken to the Mayaro District Hospital.
