Tya Jané Ramey who earned the  Miss Caribbean Continental title at the just concluded Miss World Competition returned home to Trinidad on Thursday afternoon amid much fanfare at the Piarco International Airport.

Tya turned 22 years old on Christmas Day.

Among those waiting her arrival at the airport was her greatest fan her mother as seen in this photo.

As the only child in a single-parent family, Tya was born at the King’s Coun­ty Hos­pi­tal in Brook­lyn, New York and was brought to Trinidad when she was just a few months old.

  She attended  Bish­op Anstey High School East, studied social work at  UWI Open Cam­pus  and is a national volleyball player and also a keen saxophonist as well.
