After an autopsy proved inconclusive, pathologists have ordered a toxicology report on 8-year-old Mukeisha May­nard. At least it has been determined that the child did not die as a result of being beaten by her father Michael Maynard who committed suicide after she died.

The family will be allowed to go ahead with funeral plans for the child.

Mukeisha’s death at her home in Kelly Village, Caroni on Sunday has stirred controversy with the Children’ s Authority, the T&T Police Service and relatives all chipping in to explain their role in what appeared to be the neglect of a child who was living with an abusive father.
