The Water and Sewerage Authority’s (WASA) new CEO, Keithroy Halliday chose to assume his duties on a Sunday, taking the initiative to do a comprehensive tour of the WASA Head Office and engage with staff at the utility’s call centre.

According to a release from WASA during his visit, Mr Halliday emphasized the importance of open communication and his commitment to an inclusive approach to transforming the Authority.

“I believe that the success of our utility lies in the dedication and expertise of our team. By starting my journey here on a Sunday, I wanted to demonstrate my commitment to understanding our operations and connecting with our staff from day one.

Their hard work and passion are the backbone of our service to the country. Together, we can foster an environment where everyone feels valued, motivated, and empowered to contribute to our mission of providing safe and reliable Water and Wastewater services to Trinidad and Tobago.”

The statement further noted that: “Mr. Halliday has exhibited a clear focus on employee welfare as a critical factor in service delivery. After an impromptu visit to the Kew Place location previously, where he saw and heard first-hand of the conditions and concerns of the Team members there, he returned last evening to ensure and was pleasantly surprised at the quick turnaround of the physical conditions at that location.

The Board of Directors is confident that Mr. Halliday’s leadership will guide the Authority
toward a future of growth and excellence. As the Authority embarks on this new chapter, the organization remains committed to its mission of delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable Water and Wastewater services to all stakeholders.
