New York declares State of Emergency to deal with Covid-19 Virus

New York has declared a State of Emergency because of the coronavirus. Governor Andrew Cuomo said during a press conference that: “I have officially done a declaration of emergency which gives us certain powers. We’re going to be doing purchasing and hiring more staff, especially to help local health departments that are very stressed.”
More than 3,400 people have died from the Covid-19 virus and over 101,400 have been infected with the vast majority in mainland China.
