No Changes To CXC Exam Format, Written Papers Still To Be Administered

By Newsroom

The recommendation from the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), for students sitting exams this year to be assessed only on the multiple choice and School Based Assessment (SBA) components, has been rejected by government.

Responding to a question on the matter in the House of Representatives on Wednesday,  Education Minister Anthony Garcia said “The position of the government of Trinidad and Tobago is that we should go with the format that our students have been accustomed to. That is Paper One which is multiple choice, Paper Two which is usually regarded as the long paper, and of course the SBA (School Based Assessment)”.

In addition, Minister Garcia said the June/July timeline  given for the exams is “not cast in stone” and will be adjusted based on the advice from the Ministry of Health.
