Both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Communication are denying that there will be closures tomorrow due to the coronavirus.

Education Minister Anthony Garcia said there are no immediate plans to close any schools.

The Ministry of Communication said through a press release that:

“The Ministry of Communications wishes to refute information circulating which states the Government announced that all workplaces with 50 employees or more, are to have paid mandatory leave to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus beginning March 16, 2020. All schools will be closed for 2 weeks beginning March 23, 2020.”

“This is untrue. The Government made no such announcement. The public is reminded to act responsibly and analyse all COVID-19 related information to ensure that the information is logical and from a reputable source. For verified sources of information please visit the following Government channels:
