The Tobago Jazz Festival will not take place this year, but preparations are already being made for a return of the event in 2023.

Chief Secretary Farley Augustine says despite restrictions on public gatherings being lifted on April 4th, it was too late to plan for the event to happen this year- particularly in a way that was profitable.

“And review whether or not it can earn the kind of money that we want it to earn,” he said.

The island is, however, moving ahead with plans to host a Carnival event, which will be held October 28th-30th. 

The plan, according to THA Secretary for Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation Tashia Burris, is to have the event be an annual celebration.
