Karen Nunez-Tesheira’s application to stop the PNM Internal elections will be heard before Justice Devindra Rampersad at a virtual sitting of the High Court this morning.
Nunez-Tesheira, one of three people challenging the incumbent Dr Keith Rowley for leadership of the party, is arguing that the party’s executive made the decision to host a three-day voting process in contradiction to rules outlined in the PNM’s constitution.
Nunez-Tesheira is seeking one of two outcomes: that the party’s internal elections scheduled for this weekend and December 4 be held on one day in the customary way, or the granting of an interim order to postpone the election date pending the determination of the Claim.
