ODPM Urges Caution Amid Thunderstorm Activity Across T&T

By Newsroom

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management is urging motorists to practice extreme caution when navigating on wet roads, in light of occasional showers and gusty winds.

The ODPM’s advisory comes as the Met Office has said thunderstorm activity is likely to continue over the next two to three days, with some days likely to be more unstable than others.

The Met Office says currently, an induced low-level trough over Trinidad and Tobago, due to a shear-line from a low pressure system in the middle of the Atlantic.

There have already been reports of flooding in several areas, including Ariapita Avenue in Port of Spain, along the Eastern Main Road in Barataria and Tunapuna.
