Special Reserve Police Officer Julien Emmanuel was shot dead at his Edinburgh 500 home in Chaguanas on Friday.

According to reports the SRP got into an altercation with a man outside his home at around 6pm, when the suspect, who also lives in the area, managed to grab the officer’s licensed firearm and shoot him.

Officer Emannuel was rushed to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect has since been detained  and the stolen firearm retrieved.
