By Newsroom

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is continuing investigations following  a kidnapping  in which one of its officers has been arrested in connection to the crime.

A police constable presently attached to the Guard and Emergency Branch, Police Academy, was among three people arrested in connection with the kidnapping of 26 year old  Renaco Pierre in Mon Repos on Thursday night.

The trio was arrested after officers intercepted the black SUV they were travelling in, driven by the police constable. This after officers had received a report of a man seen being assaulted along Coconut Drive.

A firearm was also recovered inside the vehicle.

Pierre, who lives in Pleasantville, has since been rescued. He was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment and was discharged early on Friday.
