OSHA, UDeCOTT Launch Investigation After Contractor Suffers 10FT Fall In Tobago

A full investigation has been launched to determine whether there was any breach in health and safety precautions which could have led to an employee of a  subcontractor on the Roxborough Hospital Project in Tobago suffering from a 10-foot fall. 

Following the incident which took place on the Labour Day holiday, the worker was taken for surgery at the Scarborough General Hospital and is now warded in stable condition.

The site was inspected by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) hours after the incident was reported.

OSHA is now conducting a full investigation of the incident and is expected to deliver a final report within one week.

Meanwhile the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) has launched its own investigation and vowed to conduct a review of the site to prevent future incidents in the future.
